Field Security Seminar | Union Mills, NC USA | July 14-17, 2023

A CCI client organization intends to open a handful of seats for a Field Security Seminar (FSS) on July 14-17, 2023. The training site is in Union Mills, NC at the Center for Intercultural Training (CIT). 

Course Overview 

The FSS is a field-oriented training for faith-based, international workers operating in higher risk environments. Participants will learn about managing surveillance, maintaining situational and environmental awareness, surviving violent encounters and coordinated attacks, and landmines and IEDs. In addition, participants will learn to manage interrogations, survive hostage events, leadership in emergencies, how to manage carjacking events, and learn the essentials of vehicle security (convoys; checkpoints; ambushes). A discussion of terrorism as it relates to faith-based workers is included.

The FSS is presented by experienced global security professionals who are mature believers. The seminar begins with and is infused with a theology of risk.

The tuition for the FSS is $850 per student. This fee includes refreshments and course materials but excludes lodging and meals. Participants from the same organization may take a $45 discount (all may take discount).

Lodging, Meals, and Transportation

Transportation from and to airports is the responsibility of participants. CIT does offer airport pickups for a fee and may be arrange by contacting Debbie at dwagner@cit-online.org. There are three airports within 60-90 minutes of the Center: Charlotte (CLT), Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP), and Asheville (AVL).

Important note: the seminar will conclude around 4:30 PM on Monday, July 17. The drive time to these airports is up to 1.5 hours. Thus, any Monday evening flights should be booked for after 7:30 PM. Otherwise, you should plan to stay at the Center on Monday night or reserve a hotel near your airport.

Course Schedule

The seminar starts with an orientation dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Friday, July 14. The following three days are full days, ending no earlier than 4:30 PM on Monday, July 17. The seminar has an aggressive schedule including outdoor exercises designed to reinforce classroom instruction. The schedule may involve evening sessions.
